Elmbrook Youth Hockey
The Elmbrook Youth Hockey Association (EYHA) is committed to developing competitive youth hockey in the Brookfield, Wisconsin area while teaching our skaters the value of winning and losing with grace and dignity. Our aim is to increase our skaters' enjoyment of the game of hockey, advance their skills, and to help develop their character.

WHO CAN REGISTER WITH ELMBROOK YOUTH HOCKEY?
EYHA offers the youth of the communities of Brookfield, Elm Grove, Menomonee Falls, Sussex, Wauwatosa, and the City of Milwaukee south of Capitol Drive, north of I-94, and west of 60th St, an opportunity to learn, promote, and compete in the sport of ice hockey. We are a Tier II, Division 1, Region 5 member of the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA).

AGES
Players can begin from the age of 4 and play through age 14.
Skaters new to EYHA should complete a Learn to Play program.

Season Information
Season runs from September through March. All items listed in this section are included in your players' participation & ice fees.
Fall Skills Camp
8U - 14U - Prepares players for key concepts seen in evaluations and practices starting in September after Labor Day.
6U practices begin in October.
Evaluations
Evaluations are utilized to create like skilled teams by ability levels.
Evaluations for 10U-14U are held in late September or Early October. Evaluations for 8U begin end of October. No evaluations for 6U.
PRACTICES
Each player gets 2-3 ice times each week that are used for practices 8U and up, and 1-2 ice times each week for practices for 6U.
We do not run a set schedule, you can practice any day of the week.
Practices begin in October.
GAMES / Tournaments
Games & tournaments will begin in late October / early November. Generally most teams have 1-2 out of town tournaments that may require a hotel stay. For younger ages, we do try to keep the tournaments local ~ less than a hour to limit hotel & travel costs.
For 8U-14U
- Games will vary but typically there will be 1 to 2 games per weekend.
- 3 tournaments per team included in fees.
For 6U
- Friendly jamborees are scheduled during weekends starting in January.
- 1 tournament included in fees.
WHAT WILL IT COST TO PLAY?
Short of full hockey equipment, you can expect the following costs/fees associated to play this season.
USA Hockey Registration
The USA Hockey Registration fee is age based for 2024-25.
- 2018 & Younger $15.00
- 2016-2017 $50.00
- 2012-2015 $61.00
- 2010-2011 $70.00
+ $10 WAHA Affiliate Fee
Note: USA Hockey fee may be waived depending on the player's age but, they must still register.
EYHA Registration
All players that register for 8U Mites - 14U Bantams will be assessed a $300 non-refundable evaluation fee out of the fees paid at the time of registration.

These fees vary by age group due to each age group having different costs for practice ice, game ice, referees, coaches, and tournaments. These ice fees include a budget for:
- Team Tournaments - One team tournament for 6U and three team tournaments for 8U-14U
- Off-ice / dryland practices and programming 10U-14U
- Fall Skills Sessions - 3 Weeks in September 8U-14U
Individual teams may incur additional costs for tournaments, travel, or other activities aside from EYHA's fees.
Practice Jerseys
EYHA requires ALL players 6U-14U to have a practice jerseys. The cost is estimated at $50.
New players must purchase their practice jersey during registration.
Returning players that still fit into their practice jersey from last season can OPT OUT and are not required to purchase a new one.
Convenience Fee
Each credit or debit card transaction will incur a 2% convenience fee in addition to the payment being made.
You will have the option to enter your bank information to process an electronic check for your payments to avoid the convenience fee.
Payment Plans
Members may choose between two (2) payment schedules: paid in full at registration, or equal monthly payments due the 1st of Aug-Mar.
If a family needs to make special arrangements for payment, you are asked to contact the Treasurer in writing to set up a mutually-agreed upon payment plan.
Volunteer Fees
EYHA asks each participant's family to volunteer time, talents, or resources to assist in operating our organization. Each family is assessed a Volunteer Commitment Fee during the season. For families with a player at the 10U Squirt, 12U Peewee, and 14U Bantam level, 10 volunteer credits or $400 are assessed (5 volunteer credits or $200 for 8U Mite & 6U In-House).
Note: credits are NOT equal to hours and the credits are NOT prorated for partial completion. Please see association volunteer opportunities within the website or contact a Board Member.
Families can elect an OPT OUT after fees are assessed during the season.
Fundraising Fee
Similar to EYHA's volunteer commitment fee, a $100 Fundraising Commitment Fee is assessed during the season & is credited back at the end of the season IF the family's fundraising quota has been met.
Fundraising efforts also play an important role for additional player development to help provide for such things as professional skating instruction, non-parent coaches, goalie training, equipment purchases, and other items. Our annual fundraiser is the Pick Your Trip raffle with the drawing at the WAHA State Tournament hosted by EYHA in March each year.
Families can elect to pay the Fundraising buy-out fee after fees are assessed during the season.
Jersey Numbers
Jersey Numbers for EYHA players are selected by players from 8U/Mite level or older.
- Returning players can choose to keep their existing number. If they want to change numbers, please notify us during Eagles Days in July to check availability.
- New players to EYHA or 8U/Mite players will pick a number at Eagles Days in July. If you choose a jersey number for a mite at registration, it will be removed until they receive their assigned jersey.
PRIVACY POLICY
EYHA will not use the individual information or credit information provided for any purpose other than for registration and payment for Elmbrook Youth Hockey players.
